Questions for Dawn Pliszka to answer
*all questions are split into numbers, there may be multiple questions under one number,those questions have been further split into letters; such as Question 1 a) and b)
Dawn Pliszka November 3rd, 2005, interview with law enforcement (link included in the chronological
list of links above).

1) In your interview with law enforcement on November 3rd, 2005, you stated that when Steven Avery called on the morning of October 31st, 2005, he gave the name for the advert as B. Janda, rather than give the full name of Barb or Barbara Janda.

Is what you said in this statement correct, if it is, are you certain that Steven Avery only said the letter B along with the surname Janda?

2) Still regarding your November 3rd, 2005, interview with law enforcement. You stated that you know the Janda's are basically the Avery brothers and you could not understand why Steven Avery gave the name Janda because Auto Trader had done business with the Avery's before.

a) Did you say that to law enforcement?

b) Regardless of whether you did or didn't say that, why did you not also say that a previous advert had been put under the name of Tom Janda as well as separate previous adverts for the Avery's?

3) In his affidavit, dated November 23rd, 2016, Steven Avery says that when he called Auto Trader on October 31st, 2005 and spoke to you, he gave the full name of his sister, Barbara Janda. Avery says he did this because Barbara Janda owned the van he was advertising.

Steven Avery also says he did this for a vehicle owned by Thomas Janda when he previously arranged for it to be advertised, he gave Thomas Janda's full name. Did Steven Avery give you the name Barbara Janda or Barb Janda or was it just B. Janda as you apparently told law enforcement?

(link included in the chronological
list of links above).

4) In your statement to law enforcement on November 3rd, 2005, you apparently told the investigator that Teresa had confided in you that Steven Avery had once come out of his door wearing just a towel.

You also told the investigator that Teresa was 'somewhat concerned' by this. Did you tell that to the investigator, if you did then is it really true that Teresa told you she was 'somewhat concerned' by Steven Avery doing that?

Dawn Pliszka telephone interview with law enforcement November 6th, 2005 (link included in the chronological list of links above).
5) Regarding your telephone interview with law enforcement on November 6th, 2005. The report, which details a summary of your conversation with the law enforcement agent, states several things (we have covered the 'B. Janda' point in previous questions);

a) The report states that; The man on the phone (Steven Avery on October 31st, 2005) was hard to understand possibly because he was slurring or foreign. Did you tell the investigator that during your phone call on November 6th, 2005, if you did, is that really accurate?

b) The report states that; You told the investigator that Teresa had told you that one of the 'Avery brothers' had come out wearing just a towel on two previous occasions when Teresa had been to the Avery Salvage yard. Did you tell the investigator that, if you did, why did you tell law enforcement just 3 days earlier that it was on one previous occasion that Avery had come out wearing just a towel?

c) The report states that; You told the investigator that Teresa had given you the impression that she thought the Avery brothers were "weird" or "creepy" and that Teresa was slighty uncomfortable going to the Avery property. Did you say that to the investigator, if you did, is that really the impression you got from Teresa regarding the Avery brothers?

Dawn Pliszka telephone interview with law enforcement February 20th, 2006 (link included in the chronological
list of links above).

6) You had another telephone interview with law enforcement, this later call happened on February 20th, 2006. According to the investigator, when he asks about the towel incidents between Teresa and Steven Avery you say that Teresa had told you about this personally. The investigator does not state that you said Avery brothers, like the previous call on November 6th.

The report states that you said Teresa had told you about Steven Avery wearing only a towel 'a couple of times or two to three times, not a lot.' Did you tell the investigator during this call that it was Steven Avery (not the Avery brothers) and that Teresa had mentioned two to three different times Steven Avery had only been wearing a towel?

Dawn Pliszka testimony at Steven Avery's trial in February 2007 (link included in the chronological list of links above).

7) Regarding your testimony at Steven Avery's trial in 2007. The incident that is mentioned in the previous question above (the towel incident) was also going to be included at trial if the Prosecution had got their way, but they didn't. There were discussions between the Prosecution, the Defense lawyers, yourself and the Judge which were held (without the jury present) and it was decided that the conversation you had with Teresa regarding Steven Avery wearing just a towel would not be part of your testimony. This was for various reasons, not least because you didn't know when the incident happened and because Teresa and you just laughed it off.

Before the ruling that the incident would not be included in your trial testimony, at any point prior to trial did the Prosecution ask you to exaggerate or invent parts of the story regarding the towel incident?

(link included in the chronological

8) Regarding your actual trial testimony (in front of the jury) in February 2007. Prosecutor Kratz asks you about the call from Steven Avery on October 31st, 2005, at 08:12 a.m. which was the call to Auto Trader when he spoke to you. Bearing in mind question 3 in this list of questions;

Do you stand by your testimony at court that Steven Avery was "very hard to understand" and that the closest you got to understand what he was saying for a name was B. Janda?

Steven Avery affidavit November
23rd, 2016 (link here).

9) Still regarding your actual trial testimony (in front of the jury) in February 2007. You testified that when Steven Avery called Auto Trader at 08:12 a.m. on October 31st, 2005, he gave an address of; 12930A, Avery Road. According to Steven Avery, in his affidavit dated November 23rd, 2016, he states that; when he made the call at 08:12 a.m. on October 31st, 2005, he gave an address of 12932 Avery Road.

a) Who is correct about what address Steven Avery gave, him when he says he gave 12932 Avery Road, or you when you testified to him saying he gave 12930A Avery Road?

b) If Steven Avery is correct, or you do not recall what he said, were you ever asked or pressurised into saying the address was 12930A Avery Road?

c) If you were asked or threatened to testify that the address was 12930A Avery Road; were you also asked to produce a report at any point prior to trial, that matched the address you testified to, and which would have been different to the address in any earlier report produced by the October 31st, 2005 call?

10) At trial in February 2007, you testified that you spoke to Teresa on the phone at 14:27 p.m. on October 31st, 2005. You testify that during that call Teresa confirms that she knew that the appointment was for the 'Avery brothers'.

Can you confirm that Teresa was not at all concerned that she had an appointment for one of the Avery brothers and can you also confirm that if she did, she was well within her rights to refuse any appointment booking if she feared for her safety?

11) In light of all the previous questions to you and all the documents linked on this website and elsewhere;

a) Did law enforcement (any agency) or the prosecution team at Steven Avery's trial, ever ask you to say something that was not true?

b) Did law enforcement (any agency) or the prosecution team at Steven Avery's trial ever ask you to hide a document (whether it was accurate or not), or edit/create a document that was not accurate?

c) Do you have anything further to add about anything you said, or did, in connection with the disappearance and murder of Teresa Halbach and the convictions of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey?
